At Sugar Bee Sweets we begin by establishing the event date (note: we are a boutique bakery and are limited in the number of orders we can handle per week; we encourage you to call with as much advance notice as possible), then we’ll discuss your vision and needs. Are you in need of completely custom cakes for your dream wedding, or are you hosting 30 ladies for an afternoon baby shower? Maybe a tiered cupcake display for a wild Girls' Night Out is in order... or perhaps it's your parents' 50th wedding anniversary. All are wonderful causes for celebration — we’ll follow your inspiration! Lastly we’ll discuss flavors, fillings, toppings, and design ideas.

What kind of cakes do you do?
All kinds! Wedding, birthday, shower, just because its Tuesday cakes….you name it!

How do I carry my cake home?
Be sure that your care is large enough and has a flat, level space with access to air conditioning for the duration of the ride. If your cake is a smaller single tier, it should fit on the floorboard of your car. It’s good to have an extra person with you for stacked, multi-tier cakes to help you load and unload the cake (not to ride in their lap). Use your AC year-round but ESPECIALLY in the summer Texas heat. Drive slowly and directly to your destination - no sharp turns, no pit stops. Once at your destination, refrigerate until the start of your event. Please be mindful to keep anything with icing or chocolate out of and away from direct sunlight.

Will my cake come in a box?
Yes! However, there are not custom made boxes for each custom ordered cake. In the case that your cake will not fit in a closed box, we recommend either taping the lid to cover as much as possible OR cutting the lid off altogether in order to prevent the box from harming the cake in any way. For tiered cakes we offer a tiered cake box for an additional $7. Please note that this means that your cake will be exposed to the open air in your car, but no more than it will be at your party location!

Do you make petit fours?
We do not - we make just about everything else, though!

What are your hours?
We are open Monday - Friday 7 am - 6 pm and Saturday 8 am - 4pm. We are not open on Sundays. 

How do I place an order?
You can contact us though the request form on our site, stop by in person, or give us a call to get started on the order process or to get a quote for your design.

How far in advance do I need to place my order?
For Custom cakes, we request at least 2 weeks notice. 
For Signature Cakes, we ask for at least 5 business days notice.
Please note: all orders are subject to our current availability.

How do I book my order?
In order to book, we ask for 50% of the total as a non-refundable deposit. The remaining balance will be due upon pick up.

Cancellation policy
The deposit is non-refundable. Any payment outside of the 50% deposit may be given as store credit.  If for any reason you need to reschedule the date you need your cake, give us a call at the shop to discuss options! 

Do you offer delivery? 
We have delivery options available on orders that are $700 or more. 


How much is a wedding cake?
Wedding cakes are priced individually based on serving size & detail. Pricing will depend on how many you are serving and what designs you end up choosing for your cake(s). We recommend coming in for an appointment to get a quote for your cake! Take a look around our site to see our flavors and photos of cakes we have done in the past and see what styles, looks and feels you are drawn to. Once you are ready to come in for an appointment feel free to book your appointment through our website here. In the tasting appointment we will sit down and discuss all of the details! 

Do you do Dessert Bars?
We sure do! Dessert Bars are a little hard to quote without knowing all about your event details and favorite sweets, so we recommend thinking about your favorite things you'd like to offer and sending us an email with those details as well as how many you'd like to accommodate and we can come with an idea or two and send you a quote!

Do you offer cake tasting appointments and if so, is there a charge?
Yes, we offer both cake tasting appointments and take away cake tasting boxes. Our tasting appointments are $35. You will be asked to pay this fee upon booking your appointment through our website (see link below). If you choose to book with us within your guaranteed time frame, given to you at your appointment time, this fee will be credited towards your total balance. If you cancel the appointment with less than 48 hours notice of the appointment or if you fail to show up for your appointment the fee will not be refunded.

Do I get to choose the flavors for the tasting appointment?
At the tasting appointment, we will provide 8 flavors. They will be pre-selected by us to showcase the “traditional” cake flavors as well as a few other flavors we think you might like. However, if you have a specific flavor you are dying to try, you can always order cupcakes or a small cake to ensure that you definitely get to try it! We would recommend doing this after your appointment because you may be surprised on what flavors you like from your tasting box :)

What should I bring with me to the tasting?
You’ll want to bring any pictures of things you like, colors, ideas or an inspiration board. At the appointment you will taste cake and we will go over your wedding cake/dessert details and come up with a design that is perfect for your big day! You don’t have to have every detail on your cake planned out in advance, but the more info you can provide us on what you would like, the better we can help you make your sugary dreams come true!

Do I need to come in for an additional appointment or to confirm/change my wedding details?
You do not have to schedule an appointment to make changes or confirm your details. You are welcome to make any changes or ask any questions in person, over the phone or via email. However, if you do want to schedule an additional appointment, we are happy to accommodate you. Please keep in mind that additional appointments may incur an additional appointment fee.

What is your delivery fee?
Our minimum order to be eligible for delivery is $700. Our delivery fee is based on mileage and is an additional charge outside of your order. You can give us a call or shoot us an email with your wedding details for exact pricing.

How do I book my wedding cake?
In order to book, we ask for $250 as a non-refundable deposit. You have up until two weeks before the wedding date to make changes to the order and pay your final balance.

Do you have a cancellation policy?
Wedding orders must be cancelled 2 weeks prior to the event date. Any payments beyond the non-refundable deposit will be given as store credit. Cake orders cancelled after the 2-week cutoff date will not be refunded. In the event that something occurs to affect your scheduled wedding date, please contact us to discuss rescheduling options.
